It was the distinct team spirit of the early 90s and the inspiring vision of the company’s founder, Dr. Eberhard Reissmann, that “no car shall drive on German roads without at least one part on board assembled on a XENON machine.” The General Manager of XENON Suzhou, Mr Peter Hammer, quoted that vision in his welcoming speech and referred to his own 13 years’ experience as sales and project manager when transforming this vision into reality. Nowadays, the customer-specific automatic assembly lines are not only built for the automotive industry, but also for the electric and electronic industry, medical, photovoltaic and other applications and they are installed around the globe. “Therefore, it was just consistent to extend our business operations to China, the country with the highest concentration of manufacturing industry and largest rates of growth at all,” he added. Suzhou was first choice and Mr Hammer expressed his particular gratitude to all those professionals involved in the settlement procedure allowing XENON’s relocation in a very short time.

“From our experience with the joint venture established in 2009 in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, this opening ceremony stands for the strategic re-start in Suzhou: close to potential customers and suppliers, distinguished environment of tradition and innovation, perfect infrastructure also related to academic and vocational education”, Mr Tobias Reissmann, CEO of XENON, judged in his speech the board decision in favour of Suzhou. XENON has always been internationally active and will expand its market leadership due to its strength in innovation in Europe, too. “With the new manufacturing plant we have created an optimal basis in order to benefit even more from the big growth opportunities in China,” Mr Reissmann added. “With our professional management team, our highly motivated local staff and our 25 years of expertise in automation we have the best preconditions to achieve the main objective: To become the No.1 in mechatronics and microtechnology automation in Greater Shanghai Area,” he underlined.

The 2.500 years old city of Suzhou, proud of its great history and fine tradition in craftwork, can point to numerous successful locations of international high tech companies in the 20 years old Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP). “At present, SIP is the most competitive development zone in China and we pursue the objective to promote particularly investments in advanced technologies, high-end manufacturing, sustainability in related processes and challenging new jobs. For both, XENON and SIP, this day is a real milestone and a trendsetting date, too,” Mrs Chen Lei, SIPAC Deputy Director Investment Promotion Bureau, recognized the effective communication and collaboration during all stages of company’s location.
